The Risks of Contaminated Fuel
Purchasing or distributing sub-standard fuel poses major risks to logistics operators, forecourts, and heavy equipment. Adulterating diesel with cheaper illuminating paraffin (IP) is a common practice used by unscrupulous suppliers to cut costs, which can cause severe operational issues:
Engine Damage
Paraffin reduces fuel viscosity and lubricity, leading to friction wear on injectors, fuel pumps, and cylinder walls.
Lower Fuel Economy
Thin, low-density fuel burns less efficiently, resulting in power loss and higher overall fuel consumption.
